Today’s Message:

Jesus Has Authority Over Unclean Spirits & We Do Too!!!

Mark 9: 14 -29

“When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them.

As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.

‘What are you arguing with them about? ’ he asked.

A man in the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit

that has robbed him of speech.

Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid.

I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not. "

‘O unbelieving generation, ’ Jesus replied, ‘how long shall I stay with you?

How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me. ’

So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion.

He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

Jesus asked the boy's father, ‘How long has he been like this? ’

‘From childhood, ’ he answered.

‘It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us. ’

'If you can’? said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for him who believes. ’

Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’

When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit.

‘You deaf and mute spirit, ’ he said, ‘I command you, come out of him and never enter him again. ’

The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out.

The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, ‘He's dead. ’

But Jesus took him by the hand lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out? "

He replied, ‘This kind can come out only by prayer. ’

Today’s message will only scratch the surface…

Jesus is Fully God & Fully Man

Jesus Has All Authority (Omnipotent)

John 1: 1 & 14

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ”

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of

the One and Onlywho came from the Father, full of grace and truth. ”

Matthew 28: 18

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Jesus is Fully God & Fully Man

Jesus in turn gave the Apostles authority over demons Mark 3: 14 -15

“He appointed twelve — designating them apostles — that they might be with him and that he might

send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons. ”

FYI Demons, unclean Spirits, and fallen angels are all the same thing.

Jesus gave All believers All authority Matt 28: 19 -20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the

of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. "

In Luke 4: 18 -19 Jesus tells us his mission

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind,

to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. "

John 20: 21

"Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. "

What do we really believe?

Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’

How do we live: Spiritually Destitute or Kids of the King

May we be like that dad, who said‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’
