Be Like Jesus: BUT HOW?

John 17: 20 -23

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through

their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.

May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:

I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world

know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. ”

Jesus is praying for and talking about us !!!

Jesus and the Father are One

“May they also be in us…” We are one with the Father and Jesus

Results • That the World may believe in Jesus

Results • We realize the Father loves us just as He loves Jesus

Ephesians 3: 14 -19

“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints to grasp

how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge —

that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. ”

2 Peter 1: 3 -4

Salvation Jesus’ Atonement & Our receiving His Gift

The Victorious Christian Life

God’s Part Redemption &

God’s Part His Divine Nature imparted into us.

Our Part Reckoning (Claiming/Counting)

Our Part Submitting (Complete Surrender. Allowing God to…)

1 a-Justification- God declares us righteous (as though we never sinned). Already—Not Yet 1 b-Progressive Sanctification In the heavenlies, when ABBA 1 a-Positional I. e. FATHER looks at the Believer, He sees Sanctification the righteousness of Jesus Unknown Unconfessed Sin 3 -Progressive Sanctification (Purified when we repent & confess our known sin ) (growth by “meat of the Word” plus the Trinity abiding in & working thru us) (growth by “milk of the Word”) Salvation (Born from Above) Old Man Crucified 2 -Crisis of Sanctification Holy Spirit’s Conviction (the line) Known Confessed Sin Forgiven & Under the Blood of Jesus “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. ” 1 John 1: 9 Key: Our Part, God’s Part
