Today’s Message:
Jesus The Disciplemaker
Mark 9: 30 -32
“They left that place and passed through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where they were,
because he was teaching his disciples. He said to them,
‘The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise. ’
But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it. ”
What was Jesus doing? Hiding?
Jesus prioritized the few
Jesus was intentionally discipling the twelve!
Some have used “AFT’R” to identify who is a potential “Timothy”. (Available, Faithful, Teachable, Responsive)
Jesus not only came to save us…
Mark 10: 45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many. "
…but Jesus also came to Make Disciples!
The Great Commission
Matt 28: 19 -20
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. "
Jesus Not only paid our sin debt,
Jesus also role-modeled Making Disciples!
Who is your Timothy?
A Second truth in Mark 9: 32
…But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it. ”
Fear again paralyzed the disciples
“Fear Not” is the most repeated command in the Scriptures
James 1: 5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all
without finding fault, and it will be given to him. ”
Dr. Widbin at ATS “There are no dumb questions!”
Dr Widbin took the dumbest questions and made the person look brilliant and feel good about themselves.
James 1: 5 Informs us that God does the same thing !!!
“…without finding fault…”
Does not make fun of… Does not make you feel stupid… Encourages questions…
In fact
Jesus strongly encouraged us to ASK!
John 14: 13 -14 “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. ”
John 15: 7 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. ”
John 15: 16 b “…Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. ”
John 16: 23 b “…I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. ”
John 16: 24 “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.
Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. ”
Notice that each promise contains some reference to “in my name” or “remain in me”.
Prayer is not “magic” nor a “wish list” for some cosmic Santa Claus.
Prayer is communicating with our Abba Father.
How do you feel about those friends who only come around when they want or need something?
Silent Prayer “Be still and Know that I am God”

Table Talk (Discussion Points)
Please Consider What do you think about the following statement: “Jesus not only paid our sin debt, But He also role modeled making disciples”?
Please Consider Since making disciples was such a high priority, if Jesus is abiding in us, then is it safe to assume that Jesus will be making disciples through us?
Please Consider Why do you think the command to fear not (or some form of it) is the most repeated command?
Please Consider How does it make you feel when James states that God does not “make fun” of us when we ask for wisdom?
Please Consider (OVERALL) Sharing what the Holy Spirit impressed upon you personally during our time together.
Benediction
