Organization ● Assignment of “Teams” / “Zones” (will be the same outside and in different gyms) - You are expected to stay in your zone (as close to the center as possible) unless directed by teacher to do otherwise. If we are using equipment and it goes out of your area, do not chase after it or touch anyones equipment that has rolled into your area (the teacher will take care of this). PLEASE do not pull or pick at the floor tape! ● Expectations / Entry routines -Sanitize your hands on the way into and out of the gym each day - Go directly to your “zone” each day. -Keep a safe personal distance between other students -At the end of class, wait to be told when and where to line up (your teacher will meet you at the appropriate door).
Organization cont. ● Bathroom Use - Raise your hand ask teacher to use the bathroom (do not move out of area without permission) Show where bathroom is (all using same one this year) ONE student at a time will be allowed in the restroom Hands should be sanitized BEFORE and AFTER using the bathroom Please do not touch anything in the locker rooms. - Water bottles may be brought to gym this year however they must have a sealable lid (no open containers and no sharing). ● Water bottles ● Masks -Masks must be worn at all times during class, unless the teacher designates a mask break or tells you otherwise.
Daily Routines Check out our “Daily Schedule Chart” on your way in each day. ● Sanitize your hands on the way into the gym ● Perform the “locomotor skill of the week” directly to your “zone” each day (keep a safe distance from other students as you do so. ● Attendance ● Warm-Up game and / or stretches ● Unit Skill Building Game or Activity ● Progressive Relaxation (K-1) ● Closure / Line - Up (maintaining social distance) ● Sanitize your hands on the way out of the gym
Activities / Yearly Outlook ● P. What to Wear for P. E. -SNEAKERS! (No exceptions this year as we cannot have you borrow a pair) -Comfortable Clothing (try to be prepared for staying in or going outside) Ex: sweatpants, shorts, tee-shirt, sweatshirt, etc. (dress in layers) -No jewelry -Hats and Sunglasses may be worn for OUTDOOR classes only. *There will be no changing of clothes this year for 4 th and 5 th graders*
Class Rules / Signals / Expectations ● The WHISTLE or stop in music means. . . STOP, LOOK and LISTEN! ● Always shoot for “STAR” behavior (see chart) ● Follow all safety rules (see both posters)
Special Rules for this Year ● ● ● ● You must keep your body to yourself at all times (no high fives, hugs etc. ) No sharing equipment Keep your mask on at all times (unless told by the teacher you may take it off) Stay in your ZONE Wash hands before and after using the bathroom Sanitize your hands on the way in and on the way out of the gym MAKE THE MOST OF IT AND HAVE FUN!
Emergency Procedures FIRE DRILLS: INJURIES: -line up straight with teacher -tell teacher immediately -no talking -stay where you are -don’t panic -follow all safety rules -listen to teacher EMERGENCY RESPONSE: BATHROOM: -Sit quietly and listen to teacher for instructions. -Raise hand -Ask politely
