Presenter Introductions 6

Presenter: Kim Russell is of the Bitter Water People, born for the Tangle People. Her maternal grandfathers are of the Coyote Pass Clan and her paternal grandfathers of the Bitter Water People. She is originally from Chinle, Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. Ms. Russell is the Executive Director of the Arizona Advisory Council on Indian Health Care, an independent state agency whose mission is to advocate for increasing access to high quality health care programs for all American Indians in Arizona. Presenter: Jay Tomkus is Principal of Corvid Consulting, LLC, a public policy and lobbying firm based in Arizona. Jay has years of experience as a lobbyist and staffer at the Arizona State Legislature and in the United States Congress. Prior to establishing Corvid Consulting, LLC, he practiced federal Indian law and water law, representing Indian Tribes on many issues before state and federal agencies. Presenter: Alida Montiel Alida Quiroz-Montiel, an enrolled member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, is the Director of Health & Human Services at the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona (ITCA). Her principal responsibilities at ITCA has been to provide information and analysis to Tribal Leaders in Arizona, Nevada and Utah on Federal and State health policies and budgetary issues that affect the American Indian health care system. As of 2019, Alida manages the ITCA Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country (CDC) project and supervises all ITCA health and human services related projects. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Arizona Advisory Council on Indian Health Care and is a member of the Arizona Behavioral Health Planning Council.
