Meet your Teacher…. . Remind code: 81010 Email: aschrier@bengamlacharter. org Hello! I am Ms. Schrier. This is my second year at Ben Gamla, and eighth year teaching overall. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, and reading. I am very excited about getting to know you all this year.

Homework • Homework is given in a packet form every Monday • Please do not work ahead • Reading Log completed each night with parent signature • Homework collected Fridays

Birthdays ● Take place at 1: 30 in the classroom ● Please check to make sure there are no food allergies or dietary restrictions ● provide any paper goods, utensils, etc. ● No siblings or other family members ● We can’t wait to celebrate as a class

• Volunteering and Academic Enhancements Wish List, please provide receipts so I can document your hours • Special Projects sign up sheet on table • Can’t come in to volunteer? No problem • Mystery Reading on Fridays please email me to set up • Many opportunities throughout the year

New Money Policy • All payments are to be done online, there is no money collection with the exception of lunch money and lunch forms • Field trips, dress down, agendas, spirit shirts, etc. is all to be paid via the website • Deadlines for field trip payment will still apply • Please still turn in field trip forms once you have paid

General Rules • It is now mandated that we cannot allow students to bring in any outside food or beverages into the school( Ex. Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts cups, bags, etc. ) • This means no fast food drop off, no walking into school with a cup from any outside restaurant • Please let me know no less than 24 hours if there is a change in pick up ( early release days) • Please write on the right side of the agenda how the student is getting home on which day.

● Journeys Reading ● Daily 5: Teacher Time, Writing, Word, Listening to Reading, Read to Self or Read to Someone ● Students make their own choices and will complete each center at least once throughout one week ● Tests for Journeys will be held on Fridays, unless otherwise noted ● Phonics quizzes, or reading comprehension quizzes will not be given on same day as Journeys tests

Math • Go Math is completed daily in the classroom, and math homework corresponds with daily lesson • Manipulatives, fun games and activities • Hands on, independent and group learning
