Welcome to your new class!

Hello! Hello, hello! It’s a brand new year. Filled with fun and learning, Nothing to fear. Sit back and listen, Lend me an ear, I’m your teacher for the rest of this year!

I am Ms. Perez!

All about me! • This is my second year teaching at Hillside school, but my 7 th year teaching overall. • I ran cross country and track in high school and still enjoy running today. I am running the Chicago Marathon in October! • I love watching sports! Go Bears And Blackhawks! • I am half Cuban and half German! • I am a natural blonde ; ) • My favorite snack is pretzels!

Classroom Rewards: Individual Group Class

Individual Rewards • Move up on behavior chart when displaying good behavior. • Move down when you make poor judgments. • Earn a certain number of raffle tickets depending on what color you end up on at the end of the day. Students who end up on yellow, orange or red will receive NO TICKETS that day! • Behavior punch card! When all the holes in your punch card get punched, you get to choose a reward! • Earn reward when I pick two lucky winners on Friday!

Group Rewards Earn points when your group displays good behavior. The group that has the most points by the end of the week will receive a treat or will get to choose a reward.

Class Rewards • Earn marbles to be added to the class marble jar when our class displays good behavior. • Receive compliments from other teachers can earn the class marbles. • Receive compliments from principal/asst. principal can earn the class marbles. • Receive compliments from me may earn you more marbles to be added to the marble jar. • Once the marble jar is filled up to the top, the class will receive a reward/class party!

Homework Policy

Homework First day without homework: Student will have a missing assignment. The highest grade they can receive on late work is a 70%, which is a C-. . Stay in for recess to complete. Three or more late assignments in a week: All missing assignments will be written on their Friday Report and should be turned in on Monday morning along with their signed Friday Report. Student will be issued a behavior report on their Friday Report if they have three or more late assignments. After three behavior reports, the student will receive a detention. Have no missing assignments by Friday and receive free time! If you have one or more missing assignments by the end of a week, you maybe given a shortened free time or will not get free time.
