Attendance • Government expectation = 96% (this allows for around 5 days of illness) • Research shows that there is a direct correlation between the amount of time absent and children’s attainment • There are 13 weeks school holidays; this is when family holiday should be booked • No authorisation of holidays in term time • Unauthorised absence during term time may be followed up by the local authority
Safeguarding • Our designated Child Protection Staff are: Janna Murphy, Assistant Head teacher (Designated Safeguarding Lead) Rachel Bates, Deputy Head teacher (Designated Safeguarding Lead) Sarah Blakey, EYFS Cocoordinator (Deputy Safeguarding Lead) • Our School Safeguarding governor is: Sally-Anne Phillips If you have any concerns regarding a child’s welfare please report this in confidence to a member of the Child Protection Team as soon as possible. If your concern is relating to a member of staff please report this in confidence to a member of the Child Protection Team who can refer the matter to the Head teacher and/or school governing body, who can then consider which course of action needs to be taken.
Informal chance for you to look at your child’s books Tuesday 15 th October: (3: 20 - 3: 40) Parents/carers’ book look: Monday 25 th November (3: 20 - 4: 00) Parents/Carers’ evening: Tuesday 26 th November (3: 30 - 8: 00) We will maintain communication through the pupil planners / phone calls in the interim. Should you wish to see us at any point, please make an appointment through the school office.
