How do we get into school?

We get into school by the main gate and walk straight into our classrooms. The teachers will be there to greet you on the first day!

Where do we go for playtime?

We go to the main playground, we get there by walking through the hall. We share the playground with the Year 2 children!

Will our learning be very different to Reception?

§ Learning will continue for the children in a very similar manner to what they are used to. § Continuous provision will be available for the children to fully embrace the curriculum. Learning information § Phonics lessons will be taught daily alongside multiple opportunities for children to receive specialist support tailored to their needs. § Reading will be conducted similarly to how the children have been reading in Reception. With the children reading in guided reading sessions and then taking the book that they have been practicing home to celebrate their reading.

What do we need to know about our school day?

§ Lunchtimes are slightly later. Please ensure that your children come to school with a snack that they enjoy, fruit is provided on a daily basis too. § The children will have a break time every morning. Milk can be ordered for your children by contacting the school office if you wish for your children to have daily milk. The School day. § Every day the children will be taking part in a variety of lessons all tied together through our Mantle topic. We will ping about this next term as well as put information for further learning on the school’s website. § Due to limited space can the children please bring book bags to school instead of rucksacks.

When do we need to come into school in different clothes?

We will send a ping home about when this is at the start of the term. § We have forest school once a week. Children need to come to school wearing suitable outdoor clothing with their wellingtons in a named bag. We will send a ping home about when this is at the § We have PE once a week.
