American Nuclear Society (National) � Established in 1954, professional organization of scientists, engineers, and other professionals devoted to the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. � 10, 500 members (in 46 countries) come from diverse technical disciplines ranging from physics and nuclear safety to operations and power � Comprised of national and international entities, including government, academia, research laboratories, and private industry.
American Nuclear Society (UML Chapter) � Established in 1967, our mission is to advocate the peaceful use of nuclear technology and applications through all facets of life, from power generation to medicinal treatments � The UMass Lowell chapter is a satellite organization, taking part in elections and attending regular national conferences. � Currently 44 registered members (and counting!) � Students from diverse disciplines ranging from business to physics, and electrical to mechanical engineering (Tell your friends!)
