We also learned about the 5 types of questions readers ask and think about while reading; Factual, Background, Evaluative, Speculative, and Interpretive Encourage your child to record these types of questions as they read in their own independent reading! We will continue to work with questioning to deepen our comprehension of text. Math: In working with Landmark and Survey Data, it was evident our students have an understanding of these concepts. Therefore, we took a pre-test to assess where our students are at in math, and to help form our math curriculum here forward. Writing: We have started exploring the anthology This I Believe… a collection of essays written in response to the prompt “This I believe…” In reading these essays, we have begun to brainstorm and analyze our own beliefs. Our goal is to write our own This I Believe Essay, in which we share our core values which guide our daily lives! Exciting stuff! Check out the mission here: thisibelieve. org or scan this QR code
