What is Carnaval in Rio? Carnaval in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil is the largest Carnival in the world. The first festival started in 1723 and has since been celebrated once a year, attracting more than two million people annually.

What can we expect? Latino Music! Samba Dancing! Entertainment! Casino, Auctions! Crowd Celebrations! Bright Costumes! More!

Volunteer committees that need YOU! Day Volunteers (25) From 5: 00 p. m. the day before Gala, and during the day of Gala, help with various tasks such as table setting, putting up decorations and setting up the rooms, to ensure Gala is ready for the evening event. Work with various committees, (e. g. Decor, Silent Auction, Wish List and Gala Select), to assist in setting up Gala for each of these functions. Night Volunteers (20) During Gala evening, assist in guiding guests to the various events within Gala; staff the coat check, raffle ticket sales, etc. Provide support to ensure the various Gala events, such as Silent Auction, Gala Select, Wish List, are all running smoothly during Gala evening. Assistance during the Live Auction to identify bidders. Assist in packing up Live, Silent Auction and Gala Select items and general trouble -shooting. Décor (5) Work with the Decor leads to source various décor items to transform the venue site into the envisioned look and theme of Gala. Assist in creating decor arrangements and table centre pieces.

Volunteer committees that need YOU! Graphic Provide graphic design for various Gala communication pieces. Design/Marketing Team (1 -2) Work with Gala Marketing Team and Mulgrave Communications Manager (Karem Planas) to provide design support. Auction Tracker Data Entry (3 -4) Work with Auction Tracker Lead to input data and catalogue information into Auction Tracker program. Proofread information going into Catalogue. Silent Auction (3 -5) Work with retail partners to procure items for Silent Auction. Assist in creating packages to auction. Work with Auction Tracker and Catalogue teams to ensure they have the information needed. RSVP Input information into a spreadsheet to create a guest list. Assist in planning the dinner seating arrangements for Gala.

Volunteer committees that need YOU Merchandising and Packaging (3 -5) Identify materials needed and then purchase said items for display of Silent and/or Live Auction items. Package and display said items on the day of Gala. Business Ads and Sponsorship (1 -2) Work with Live Auction Lead and Mulgrave Advancement staff to identify businesses that might be willing to purchase ads or sponsor Gala. Contact potential businesses regarding advertising or sponsorship. Collect information and payment for ads; work with Catalogue Lead to ensure ads are placed. Gala Select (1 -2) Work with photographer to get blank cards made with a photograph of each art work on the front of the cards. Implement an ordering and fulfillment process for parents to order boxes of cards.
