Language courses • In many study programs, language courses can be chosen as a mandatory elective (when one of several elective options must be chosen). • In every degree program, language courses can be chosen as an elective. • It is possible to participate in language courses as an auditor (you attend the class but don‘t have to take the exam). • External HNEE partners can participate in language courses as a guest auditor. German as a Foreign Language • The Language Center offers German courses at several different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). International students, prospective students, and guest auditors can take advantage of these courses. • German courses concurrent with studies are offered on Wednesday afternoons. A 1, B 1, and C 1 are offered in the Winter Semester, and A 2 and B 2 are offered in the Summer Semester. • In the preparatory German course B 2/C 1 Intensive, international applicants can prepare four days a week for German language studies at the HNEE. International students and exchange students can also take advantage of the course. • The German Language Test for University Admittance (DSH) kann also be taken through the HNEE Language Center.
