The answer is YES! All existing gifted identifications in elementary school WILL transfer seamlessly to middle school.
Service Delivery Model • Students identified for gifted services in Grades 6, 7, and 8 are cluster grouped in classes for all areas of their identification. • In addition to cluster grouping, math classes are a homogeneous placement by course. • The classroom teacher holds the primary responsibility for instructional differentiation. • The RTG supports cluster teachers, gifted students, and parents.
Middle School Areas of Gifted Identification • • English Mathematics Science Social Studies • Visual Arts • Vocal and/or Instrumental Music
Communicati on from Swanson Please make sure that you have an up-to-date email address on file with the school office at all times. (i. e. Quarterly Letters) There will be a Gifted Services Parent Meeting in September of 2021.
How can I help to prepared my child for Middle School?
In the interest of simplicity in this unprecedented virtual setting… This modified presentation does not address the Gifted Referral or Gifted Identification Process. Detailed information on the entire process will be thoroughly covered at the Fall 2021 Gifted Parent Presentation. That date and time will be announced in early September of 2021.
