If you are writing a note to change transportation please write your child’s normal mode of transportation. Safety and Security Our TOP priority is safety! Here are some of the systems in place at SRE to ensure security and safety: New front entrance Check-off lists for every student at dismissal Practice drills (first drills will be the 1 st week of school) No visitors on playground except Watch. Dogs Teachers in zones on playground

Morning Routine Drop off Areas: Grades K-2 wait in cafeteria and will be picked

Morning Routine Drop off Areas: Grades K-2 wait in cafeteria and will be picked up by teachers at 7: 35. Grades 3 -5 wait in the gym and are released at 7: 30 Car riders are dropped off at Front and Rear parent drop off. Students will enter through the side doors. Only students can enter through these doors. Adults must check in at the front of the school. School Bell: Arrive by the first bell at 7: 40 a. m. We ask that parents please be out of the hallway by 7: 45 when instruction begins. Students are tardy after 7: 45.

Please do not email the teacher your transportation changes. � Three Types of Dismissal Bus/Daycare Van: These students go to Front Parent Pick Up Walkers/YMCA: � Kindergarten students will wait for a parent at the doors near the cafeteria. A teacher will hand each kinder student off to their parent. Walkers Grades 1 -5 are released through the front of the building. � YMCA students walk to the cafeteria. Car Riders: § There are two car rider pick-up areas (Front and Rear). We will provide you a large sign to place in your car window indicating your child’s first and last name and grade level. LARGE LETTERING please.

Label all lunch boxes on the outside with your child’s name, teacher’s name and room number.

If they leave something on the playground we cannot go back out until the next scheduled recess time for safety. For safety reasons, we do not allow visitors on the playground. Kinder will have two recesses each day 7 Minute Walk: In order to meet the required minutes for physical exercise, we add a 7 minute walk to the beginning of recess each day. PE takes place every other day.

Library – Ms. Alonzo Teachers take students to the library as part of the Specials rotation. Parents are welcome to come apply for a card in order for their child to have more books. Students can check out books anytime the library is open (7: 15 -3: 30) Any damaged or lost book will need to be purchased. Students can check out up to 3 books at a time.

Label all sweaters, jackets, lunch boxes or loose clothing that can easily be taken off. We STRONGLY discourage flip-flops since we have recess everyday. Please have girls wear shorts under skirts or dresses Backpacks No Wheels: They must fit in narrow lockers and be big enough to hold folders. Please label the outside of your child’s back pack. Please limit the backpack to school related items only.
