Goals For the Year -Have every student reach or exceed California Common Core State Standards for second grade -Have every student develop organizational skills: K. I. T. Binder Keeping It Together
Expectations -Your child should be prepared and on time for school **Students are in their seats ready to learn at 8: 30. - Good night’s rest - Healthy breakfast - Please notify the school office when your child is absent and if you would like to pick up homework after school. - Please schedule doctor’s appt. and any leisure activities out of school hours. - Please make sure your child is in school unless ill.
Behavior Expectations Please remind your child to follow school and classroom expectations. We are a PBIS school and class that is … Responsible, Respectful, & Safe Behavior Management Clip Chart Students may move up and down the chart during the day. All students begin on “Ready to Learn” everyday.

Class Work It is important that each student complete his/her class work. If class work is not finished in the time allotted, the student may have to complete it during recess, lunch recess, or at home. To encourage the students to do their best, they may be asked to do lower quality assignments again.

Absences Students will be asked to make up homework and tests they missed while being absent. The number of days your child is absent is the number of days that will be given to make up their work.
Grading Policy CVUSD Standards-Based Report Card: Uses a scale of 1 -4 to indicate academic performance levels. Performance Level marks Level 1 - standard not met Level 2 - progressing toward the standard Level 3 - achieving the standard Level 4 - exceeds the standard Tests and projects will be graded using performance level marks. Daily work in class and homework is for learning and practice and will be informally assessed to guide instruction.

Class Parties Winter Holiday, Valentine’s Day, & End of the Year Last hour of the school day Birthdays Students will receive a birthday journal from the class. Parents are asked not to bring any treats to school. A donation of a book to our class library or a game would be great!
