Welcome to Seagrave Village Primary School Induction before
Welcome to Seagrave Village Primary School !
Induction before Summer. This year has been very different because of Covid 19 and so we haven’t been able to visit pre-schools or your homes to meet your children. However you should all have received your welcome packs and we hope you and your child have visited our Virtual page on the Seagrave website which has lots of useful information. We will be dropping more information round to your houses in the next few weeks and so hope we may see you and your child then. Please e-mail EYFS@seagravevps. org if you have any questions or worries and I will respond as soon as possible.
Treasure boxes! Don’t forget to help your child to create a Treasure box to bring to school on their first day. This will help us and the other children to get to know your child.
After the Summer Holiday. • Monday 24 th and Tuesday 25 th August – you should all have a half hour appointment when you and your child can visit their new class and they will receive their new book bag and dinner wallet. They will be able to explore the activities both inside and outside. • Wednesday 26 th and Thursday 27 th August - Children will attend school for the morning session only (9 am – 12 noon) • Friday 28 th August – Children will attend school for the morning session but will also stay for their lunch (9 am – 1. 15 pm) • Children will need to wear school uniform and bring their dinner wallet with their choice of food for dinner. • Please send your child with a water bottle for during the day • Milk and fruit will be provided. • Children must bring their bookbag every day. • PE kit must be brought in a drawstring bag and left in school. • Your child will receive lots of TLC during the first few weeks to help them to settle into their new environment.
Your child will bring home a book bag with a story book to share with you. Please find a quiet spot where you and your child can share their book. Let your child hold the book and ask them questions about the story as you read to them. Look for early reading behaviours – do they know the difference between the pictures and the words? Can they hold the book and turn the pages at the correct time? Can they talk about the story when you have finished reading?
If you have any questions or want to speak to a member of staff then please e-mail us on EYFS@seagravevps. org We are very excited to support you and your child as they take their first steps into school life. It may seem over whelming at the moment but we will be here to help you every step of the way.
