Reception Class the School Day Butterflies 1 Miss Towe Butterflies 2 Mrs Lindley The school day starts at 8: 40 children need to come into school through the Smithy Close entrance and use the double conservatory doors. Doors close at 8: 50 if children arrive after this time they must go through the main office. The School day closes at 2: 50 pm this class will exit via double doors on the conservatory. Lunch 12: 45 -1 pm Children are entitled to a free school lunches. The lunches are cooked fresh daily and are served in our dining hall located in the Key Stage 1 playground. However, should you wish to send your child with a packed lunch, can you please remember to name your child's lunch box. Do not send any fizzy drinks or sweets to school as these are not permitted.

Reading Once your child is able to blend sounds together to make simple words, they will be given a reading book (the first book will be a wordless story). Alongside the reading book will be a word card for your child to practise the high frequency/tricky words that children are expected to learn during Reception. All book must be handed in on Thursday for changing and will be returned on same day. You will be given a diary to record comments in, when you share the book with your child We ask that you read with your child three times a week your child will then be entered into the reading raffle, where they can win a prize.

A few little notes! A named water bottles is provided for each child Milk is free until the term in which your child turns 5 after this you will need to pay for it A healthy snack is provided every day to each child Children will need a book bag (this can be purchased from the school office) A named P. E. kit; a pair of black shorts & a white t-shirt in a small P. E. bag (this can be purchased from the school office) ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING MUST BE NAMED!

Evidence Me, Observation of Learning We’ve started to use a new system which will allows us to share what your child is doing in school. The ‘Parent Share’ feature in Evidence Me enables you to view reports (complete with photos) via the app or web suite, showing you what your child has been learning and the new skills they are developing. We think these reports will really brighten up your day! You can send us your comments and feedback by simply adding them to the reports. This will help our staff to support your child even more effectively in the classroom. You can also take an active role in contributing to your child’s observation portfolio by uploading your own observations, simply add these to the app or web suite. We will send details home when children have been in school for three weeks
