Ways you can help… • Stay and support your child’s learning on the carpet until 9. 00. • Share a book with them at bedtime. • Any questions about your child’s progress? Speak the teacher or teaching assistant in the morning or after school.

Uniform All children must be in the correct school uniform with sensible black shoes. All uniform must be named. Please make sure your child has appropriate clothing for outside. We learn outside in all weathers!

Behaviour If children make good choices each day they stay on a green card. They get a reminder if we see any poor behaviour then a yellow card. If they receive a red card for bad behaviour we will let you know and try to find ways to help your child make better choices. The cards are displayed in class for each child. Please help us by checking regularly and asking them how they did in class. Children will continue to points for good behaviour. of each week we will look the most points, they will ‘Do. Manners We expect all children and adults in the school to be polite. Please encourage your children to use ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ when asking for or receiving something.

WOW moments What has your child done well this week? We regularly send home a ‘wow moment’ sticker to go in your child’s learning journey.

Our School Day • We start with phonics on the carpet then go into free-flow activities inside and out of the classroom. Children do focus work or are encouraged to be active in their own learning and choose their own activities. • Mid-morning we have an input on the learning for that session. • Lunchtime is 11. 45 -12. 45 • In the afternoon we have another carpet input and suggest new challenges for the children inside and outdoors. • Assembly is at 2. 55. • Tidying up is an important part of their day!

School Property Children are encouraged: To use all of the resources inside and outside of the classroom correctly. To carry equipment in the correct way.

Reading Records In a few week’s time we will start sending books home. Please share a book with your child, talk about the pictures and what is happening in the story. Please write a comment or sign and draw a smiley/sad face.

Food • Packed lunches should consist of healthy foods – no crisps, chocolate, biscuits, fizzy drinks etc. . If your child brings a yogurt for packed lunch, it must be a tub and not a squeezy pouch. • We are a nut free school. Please ensure that your child does not bring in any food which contain nuts including chocolate spread. . • We provide children with fruit as a snack during the day – no need to provide your child with an additional snack. • Please provide your child with a water bottle so they can access this at all times during the day.

Have fun! We want the children to enjoy coming to school and to have fun whilst learning. This can happen if we follow all of our school rules and expectations.
