Welcome to Primary 3/2 with Mrs Forsyth

Our Timetable Mrs Forsyth is full time class teacher. Wednesday periods 1 and 2 Mrs Farrant will teach the class and she will teach I. C. T. Friday periods 1 and 2 Miss Cairnie will teach the class and she will teach Drama and French. Indoor P. E on a Wednesday Outdoor P. E on a Friday Please ensure children have their full PE kit in on these days as well as a suitable jacket/ footwear for all weather conditions.

A Day in Primary 3/2 Learning Through Playful Pedagogy; Children are engaged in organic and structured play through the use of zones and areas in the classroom and open area. This provides pupils with opportunities to work with peers, problem solve and develop their social and academic skills.

Literacy • Handwriting – Nelson not cursive • Reading- Term 1 Story world • Spelling – Spelling/phonics patterns once a week • Writing- across the curriculum.

Homework • Core homework of spelling, reading and mental maths. • Termly Family Homework. • Homework will be given on a Monday to be returned on a Friday. • Recommended time for homework tasks • Primary 1 and 2 – approximately 40 -50 minutes per week • Primary 3 and 4 - approximately 1 hour per week • Flexible

Our Code of Conduct

Promoting Positive Behaviour • Our whole school code of conduct and revised (2019) policy is now available on the school website.

Promoting Positive Behaviour • We are a Rights Respecting Gold award school. • This means that we fully embed children's rights throughout the school's policies, aims and ethos. • A RRS teaches about children’s rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers, adults and pupils. • Each classroom has its own charter, designed by the children, and this helps to promote positive behaviour.

Promoting Positive Behaviour • This session we have introduced a whole school system where positive behaviour is rewarded in line with our code of conduct. • Children will be awarded house points and there will be a monthly reward for the winning house. • Class dojo and Star of the Week • Verbal warning • Phone calls and chats with parents • Losing all or some of playtime

Skills Academy • Thursday afternoon for Primary 1 -3 Life Skills- Mrs Mc. Lean Food Technology- Mrs Forsyth Design/Technology- Miss Mc. Donald Community Skills- Miss Wight Creativity- Miss Paisey Please come prepared!

Our Wider Achievements We would love to share in the children's achievements out-with school. Please let us know about these using our online form so we can celebrate each one! Once you have completed the form, send a photo into school with your child so we can add it to our whole school display. Remember to look out for our Wider Achievement assemblies throughout the year in November, February and April.
