“ATTITUDE” by Chuck Swindoll The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.

“ATTITUDE” by Chuck Swindoll It will make or break a company. . . a church. . . a home… The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. . . we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.

“ATTITUDE” by Chuck Swindoll The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. . . I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you. . . we are in charge of our Attitude!

Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Philippians 4: 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

ATTITUDE an internal position or feeling with regard to something else

words used to describe ATTITUDE disposition, feeling, mood, opinion, sentiment, temper, tone, perspective, frame of mind, outlook, view or morale

pilots use the word “attitude” to describe their horizontal relationship with the runway during landings

if the plane’s attitude is not properly aligned, it will make contact with the ground at the wrong angle and crash!

Your inward disposition or ‘attitude’ toward people, circumstances or situations determines your final outcome

are you going to land smoothly, or crash? are you a winner or a whiner? are you positive or negative?

so what kind of attitude do you want to have?

“ATTITUDE” by John Maxwell §it’s the “advance man” of our true selves §it’s roots are inward, but it’s fruit is outward §it’s our best friend or worst enemy §it’s more honest and more consistent than our words §it’s our outlook based on past experiences

“ATTITUDE” by John Maxwell §it draws people to us, or repels people from us §it is never content until it is expressed §it is the librarian of our past §it is the speaker of our present §it is the prophet of our future

the difference between winners and whiners is the attitude they have and the way they respond to their problems

winners see problems as challenges and opportunities that will take them to the next level

whiners see problems as threats which undermine their potential to be, to have, and to do more

1 Peter 5: 8 -9 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

satan wants to knock you off course he’d love to knock you out, but if he can get you in your attitude, he’ll be satisfied

satan is a liar he’s called the wicked one, the serpent, the dragon, the devil, the accuser & your adversary

he didn’t get all of these names by “mickey mousing” around!

he wants to derail your life he wants to break your spirit he wants you to be messed up on the inside!

Nehemiah 1: 1 -4 1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace, 2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 1: 1 -4 3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.

Nehemiah 1: 1 -4 4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,

Nehemiah 1: 11 O LORD, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

Nehemiah 2: 5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.

Nehemiah 2: 8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.

Nehemiah 2: 19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king? they laughed at us they despised us they ridiculed us

Nehemiah 4: 1 -3 1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.

Nehemiah 4: 1 -3 2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?

Nehemiah 4: 1 -3 3 Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.

Nehemiah 2: 20 Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem. god will prosper us We his servants will arise and build You have no part, no right, no memorial

it’s surprising at how quickly a winning attitude can turn things around

Nehemiah 4: 6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. so we built the wall the people had a mind to work

Nehemiah 4: 9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them. we made our prayer to god we set a watch against them day and night

Nehemiah 4: 14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. Be not afraid of them Remember the lord who is great and terrible Fight for your family

Nehemiah 4: 17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.

2 Corinthians 10: 3 -5 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; ) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Nehemiah 4: 20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.

Nehemiah 4: 23 So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing.

This kind of victorious attitude can radically change things, but you will face intense opposition from the enemy

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISTRACTED Nehemiah 6: 1 -2 1 Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates; )

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISTRACTED Nehemiah 6: 1 -2 2 That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. The Plain Of “OH-NO!”

satan wants you to lose your focus!

RESPONSE TO DISTRACTION Nehemiah 6: 3 -4 3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? 4 Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.

RESPONSE TO DISTRACTION i am doing great work! i cannot come down! why should I stopdown? and come

RESPONSE TO DISTRACTION I’M GONNA STAY UP!

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISCREDITED Nehemiah 6: 5 -7 5 Then sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand;

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISCREDITED Nehemiah 6: 5 -7 6 Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words.

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISCREDITED Nehemiah 6: 5 -7 7 And thou hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying, There is a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISCREDITED An “Open Letter” Contains Rumors And Gossip

satan wants to wreck your faith!

RESPONSE TO DISCREDITING Nehemiah 6: 8 -9 8 Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart. 9 For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.

RESPONSE TO DISCREDITING what you say is not right this comes from your own wicked heart o god, strengthen my hands

RESPONSE TO DISCREDITING I’M GONNA PRAY UP!

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISFUNCTIONAL Nehemiah 6: 10 Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee.

THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISFUNCTIONAL TRUST MAN INSTEAD OF GOD

satan wants you paralyzed with fear!

RESPONSE TO DISFUNCTION Nehemiah 6: 11 -14 11 And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in. 12 And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

RESPONSE TO DISFUNCTION Nehemiah 6: 11 -14 13 Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me. 14 My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.

RESPONSE TO DISFUNCTION i will not run and hide! i will not be afraid!

RESPONSE TO DISFUNCTION I’M NOT GONNA GIVE UP!

Tell Him I’M GONNA STAY UP! satan wants you to lose your focus

Tell Him I’M GONNA PRAY UP! satan wants to wreck your faith

Tell Him I’M NOT GONNA GIVE UP! satan wants you paralyzed by fear

A WINNING ATTITUDE CAN TURN THINGS AROUND QUICKLY!

Nehemiah 6: 15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

how different would your life be if you stayed up, prayed up and didn’t give up for the next 52 days?
