Math v In 3 rd grade, students will be assessed on their math fact fluency on a regular basis as required by the TEKS for their grade level. Weekly assessments will be taken and the average of those weekly assessments will account for 1/2 of a major grade for students for the nine weeks(approximately 10% of the students grade per nine weeks). New Behavior Targets CONDUCT GRADES - ALL SUBJECTS Grades K-5 (Elementary) Behaviors that Support Learning 3 = Proficient. Follows expectations independently. 2 = Approaching. Progressing toward expectations. 1 = Needs Support. Needs reminders and support to follow expectations.

This new system will give you a better, more defined look of what is happening in the classroom and give you immediate feedback on any incident which may take place. Here are the 4 Learning Targets Demonstrate Self-Control Demonstrate Respect for Others Demonstrate Readiness to Learn Demonstrate Responsibility Each learning target will receive its own number grade and they are as follows……. “You got it!” Student has fully demonstrated proficiency and skill application of the outcomes for the particular target for this point in the school year. Vocabulary words will be given two weeks prior to the test. Students are expected to read for 20 minutes daily. Homework will be given at the discretion of the teacher. When it is given, they will bring it home on Friday and it will be due the following Friday. Students will fill out their planners each Friday will information for the following week.

Cell Phones and Smart Watches Parents, With the increase in the technology through phones and watches, we would like to make you aware of the expectations on all elementary campuses: Cell phones shall remain silenced and in a backpacks, unless the classroom teacher authorizes use for instructional purposes. Cell phones shall not be used during non-instructional time periods including lunch and recess. Our preference is no cell phones or watch phones on elementary campuses due to the possibility of disruption or loss of the items. However, if it is necessary outside the school day, it should remain in the backpack turned off.
