Weekly Routines • Numeracy on Monday to Wednesday, Maths on Thursday • Guided Reading(term 1 and 4) on Monday to Wednesday, Writing on Thursday, Spelling on Wednesday • Assembly, Problem Solving and Golden Time on Friday • PE on Monday and Tuesday with me, Thursday with Miss Menzies. Run a Mile 3 times per week. • Show and Tell on first Thursday of the month. • Topic work, Expressive Arts, RME ongoing

Homework • • • Active homework walls in terms 2 and 4 Traditional homework in terms 1 and 3 Spelling/Writing Reading Maths Other subjects

P 3 Topics • Term 1 Local Area – Materials/Science focus (local walks and visits) • Term 2 Food and Farming – trip to Gorgie Farm • Term 3 Senses/Human Body (skeleton) and Magnets • Term 4 Vikings – museum trip • Also have whole school topics

Growth Mindset • Independence – lunch, lining up etc • Perseverance – ‘mistakes are good’ • Determination – challenge (mild, hot, spicy) • Confidence – ‘have a go’ • Curiosity – ask questions and reflect • Resilience – deal with emotions and setbacks
