Strictly Eating with Diabetes Teaches: food groups and basic carbohydrate counting. Emphasizes concepts of “mixed meals, ” meal “spread, ” and appropriate portion sizes. Fats, Fiber, and Exercise A must for patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol or cardiovascular concerns. Highly recommended for patients desiring to control or lose weight. Homework Record Keeping! List all units of insulin taken and time. List all exercise. Include time, type, and duration. List all bloods glucose readings (check blood sugar based on your Doctor’s orders) List all Foods eaten. Include meal times Amounts of foods in cup/measurement, carbohydrate grams or choice.
