Today’s topic Assertive into Exclamatory and vice versa
Try to change the sentence into Exclamatory Assertive - It is a very beautiful place. Exclamatory – What a beautiful place it is! If there is “a very/a great” in the statement, the structure “What a/an +adjective+noun+Sub+verb) will be used to change it into Exclamatory
Try to change the sentence into Exclamatory Assertive – I wish I had the wings of a bird. Exclamatory – Had I the wings of bird! Or, If I had the wings of a bird! If there is “sub+wish+sub+had” in the statement, “Had” will be used before the Subject or “If” will be used instead of “I wish”
Try to change the sentence into Exclamatory Assertive – I wish I were a player. Exclamatory – If I were a player! f there is “Sub+wish+sub+were” in the statement, “If” should be used instead of “Sub+wish”
Change the following sentences into Exclamatory: 1. Assertive – The man is very honest. Exclamatory – How honest the man is! 2. Assertive – I wish I were a king. Exclamatory – If I were a king!
Try to change the sentence into Assertive Ex: How fortunate you are! Ass: You are very fortunate. Subject and Verb of exclamatory sentence are to be used as the subject and verb of assertive sentence at the outset of the sentence. How/what → Replace by → Very(before adjective)/ Great(before noun)
