Positive Discipline in our classroom… • Lifelong Guidelines (trustworthy, truthful, active listening, no putdowns, and personal best) • Classroom Rules • New Holland Guidelines to Success • Classroom Store- the students earn Talon Tickets throughout the week. We will do a drawing before taking them to the school Talon Ticket box for a Classroom prize. • All Star Behavior (Colors)- their color is in their agenda daily for you to see.

Social Studies and Science • Social Studies- Native American Cultures, Primary Documents and Artifacts

Social Studies and Science • Social Studies- Native American Cultures, Primary Documents and Artifacts important in U. S. history, Government, Resources, Topographical Features • Science- Properties of Matter, Ecological Behaviors and Systems, Earth Features and Processes that Change Earth’s Weather, Climate and Atmosphere/Earth’s Cycles

Hybrid Learning (aka Rotational Learning) Language Arts The class is broken up into small

Hybrid Learning (aka Rotational Learning) Language Arts The class is broken up into small groups and they rotate through each station during their time in Language Arts. • Direct Instruction- This is with the teacher. They will receive a lesson that is just right for them on the essential question and standard that is being taught. • Collaboration- This is with a group of their peers. During this time, they could be reading a book together and working on a project, Literature Circles, or doing a activity that matches what the essential question is for that day. • Independent- This rotation is done on their own. They may be working on a project or writing piece during this time. They could also be working on their computer with Achieve or Reading Street.

Hybrid Learning (aka Rotational Learning) Math The class is broken up into small groups and they rotate through each station during their time in Math. • Direct Instruction- This is with the teacher. They will receive a lesson that is just right for them on the essential question and standard that is being taught. • Collaboration- This is with a group of their peers. During this time, they could be doing math problem solving, playing a game on their current topic, or another math activity together. • Independent- This rotation is done on their own. They may be working on their computer with ST Math, IXL, or Xtra Math.
