Academic/Behavioral Expectations In order to learn all of these wonderful things we have to: - Come to school on time, signing into the computer Whole body listening skills Actively participate Practice skills (flash cards, lexia, freckle) Camera on, Mic off
Things we will learn in ELA Fundations: learning all of our letters, letter sounds, blending and segmenting those sounds to create CVC words. We will also learn the basic structures of sentences. Hegerty: Early literacy program that is 5 -10 minutes after fundations. Concentrates on rhyming, syllables, first, middle and ending sounds.
Things we will learn in ELA Wonders: we have a new ELA (reading and writing) program this year called Wonders. We will be exploring different kinds of texts, dive into deep conversations about comprehension and become stronger writers
Things we will learn in Math start with learning numbers 1 -10 addition and subtraction within 10. numbers 11 -20 and decomposing them. end our year with geometry and measurement
Assessments We will be using the following assessments to help navigate where the students are at certain points in the year. The data from these assessments are then analyzed to help provide each student with the best instruction to bridge any gaps or expand their knowledge -STAR early literacy benchmarks (Jan & May) -Wonders bi weekly assessments -Lexia -F&P Reading
Meet Ms. Jones
Specials will rotate every 2 weeks. This means your student will have the same special everyday for 2 weeks in a row. Parent Teacher Conferences Parent teacher conferences will be October 13 th and October 14 th Tuesday October 13 th from 4: 00 -7: 00 Wednesday October 14 th from 12: 00 -6: 00 (half day at school) After this presentation, you may sign up with me for a time slot. These meetings can take place over the phone or on Zoom.
