Meet your Teacher • Hi !! My Name is Sharon Barker • I have ALWAYS wanted to be a teacher! • I have been teaching for over 22 years. • I am happily married to my husband Dave, and we have 5 beautiful children. • I am a GIGI to the most precious granddaughter in the whole world ( I am sure you will be hearing lots about her this year) • I graduated from the University of Arkansas- Fort Smith • I love to go camping and hiking with my family. • I love working with our Youth Group at church. • I love going on Mission trips. • I love watching my children play sports.
Classroom Procedures • Be prompt Ø Come in and take your seat before the bell rings. • Be prepared Ø Unpack your books and be ready to learn when class begins. • Be attentive and listen Ø No side conversations during instruction time. • Be a polite and a positive participant Ø Do not talk or disrupt the class. Ø Raise your hand to ask a question. • Be productive Ø Turn in work on time, and always do your best. • Be Kind Ø Encourage and help others when needed.
Supplies Needed These supplies should be brought to class and clearly labeled with the student’s name on them. • 1 - ½ Inch 3 ring Binder • 1 package of loose leaf paper- college ruled • 2 composition notebooks • 1 Spiral Notebook • 1 Blue Pocket Folder • 1 Red Pocket Folder • 1 package of Post-It notes • 2 pencils, 1 black pen, 1 blue pen, 1 red pen and one yellow fine-tipped highlighter.

Consequences I will expect my students to follow our classroom procedures and rules. If they fail to do so the following steps will occur. Grading Policy • Grades are based on the accumulation of points. • Points are based on: Ø Class participation (effort)- 20% Ø Completion of assignments (daily work/ homework)- 40% Ø Major projects, Tests and Quizzes- 40% Our Grading Scale • • • 90 -100% 80 -89% 70 -79% 60 -69% Below 60% =A =B =C =D =F Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible.
