Welcome to LJMU - Induction Introducing Timetables 2020/2021 Using Web Timetables Using Personalised Timetables
Timetabling Publication Dates & Information • Web Timetables will be released on 15 th September including scheduled face to face sessions and online timetabled sessions (where supplied)– this can be found via the Student website (LJMU. AC. UK > Students) – Web Timetables show general information for Modules and Programmes • Personalised Timetables (where available) will started to be released the following week (w/c 22 nd September – Personalised Timetables are personal to the student • This year the timetable is divided between “online” and ”face to face activity” • Online activity could be a recorded lecture or a live event (such as an online tutorial) • CANVAS will have details of all your online sessions and how to join / view information – these sessions should also appear on your timetable • The timetable will also have details of your “face to face activity”
Web Timetables (Accessed via the Website – Students > Timetables (under Your Studies) • Web Timetables show programme and module information – you can use the filters to find either your programme or module timetable – get to know your programme and module codes – remember for Level 4 (First year) all modules are CORE, which means you take every module • Tutorial Groups are often numbered and your tutor will be able to tell you which group you are part of, i. e. “A” or maybe “ 1” etc – you can then look under the module and see your group • This contains the time, room location and duration of the session so you know when and where to attend (as per diagram) • This timetable is not personalised and will show every group on the module / programme – this is why knowing which group you are part of is important • The type of session also indicates whether it’s ONLINE or Face to Face – if the session is “online” and has a time, you are required to connect at this time – for ease of use, the timetable is coloured to show this
Personalised Timetables (1 / 2) • Where available, Personalised Timetables will be released during induction week (W/C 21 st September) and can be found via the student website under MYLJMU (See diagrams) • A list of programmes that do not feature personalised timetables is also available under the FAQs for that site- so please check if your programme is under this area (https: //mytimetable. ljmu. ac. uk/FAQs. aspx) From Student Page • A list of FAQs are also available on the Website – these are useful questions to note and will help with general queries and how to raise an issue if there’s a problem with your timetable From within • Where personalised timetables are not MY LJMU available to students other arrangements are in place – you can check with your Tutor
Personalised Timetables (2/2) • Most Students in the University will have access to personalised timetables – for some programmes, where teaching patterns are very complex, this is not possible • A list of programmes that do not have personalised timetables appears on the FAQs (MY LJMU) • Personalised Timetables are linked to enrolment – you must be fully enrolled for your record to appear on the personalised timetable • Your personalised timetable will currently be blank (during induction week) and these will start to be populated w/c 21/09/2020 – during your induction week – do not worry if your timetable is blank during the start of the week, you can still use the Web Timetables to view your programme information and your Tutor will be able to direct you to your first classes Personalised Timetable as accessed via MYLJMU
