Welcome to LAL ! • FJPPL “Toshiko Yuasa” supports LAL, LAPP, LLR and KEK joint activities on ATF 2 and ILC MDI since 2006 ! • FKPPL new KNU-LAL collaboration since 2011 • also FCPPL support in the past collaboration with IHEP continues on ATF 2 and LC (status talk on ATF 2 is scheduled at general FCPPL workshop at Orsay-Saclay this Friday 23 March)
Goals 1. Review recent activity, plans and progress towards “goals 1 & 2” of ATF 2, including the new strategy for training and dedicated continuous operation towards achieving a ~ 37 nm spot size 2. Face to face discussion on several engineering aspects (e. g. new hardware for IPBPM project, for GM sensors, FD quads, extraction kicker, … 3. Emphasis on projects involving FXPPL, but obviously fully open to the whole collaboration
Sessions 1. “Goal 1” R&D : RD and EXT emittance, recent running, BSM status and discussion of systematics, beam halo, Geant 4 simulation of bremstrahlung bkgd, discussion of new strategy, issues and priorities 2. “Goal 2” R&D : low-Q IPBPM status, mechanics, plan for IP feedback, usage with IPBSM, thoughts calibration, staging of objectives and scheduling 3. New projects (planned CERN hardware contributions) : Kicker, FD upgrade, GM sensors 4. Progress reports : Beam trajectory and Twiss reconstruction, neutron modeling, post-IP halo and Compton recoil spectrum measurements, FONT analysis 5. Scheduled discussions of engineering issues : IPBPM mechanics, FD hybrid magnet, GM sensor testing and usage, IPBSM systematics
Practical aspects 1. Coffee breaks in LAL cafeteria 2. Lunches in Campus restaurant (cost ~ 10 euros in cash for most of you) 3. Workshop dinner at “Le Gramophone”, near Orsay RER train station 4. Webex : see the indico agenda 5. internet freely accessible via LAL-public wireless network
