How To Join KDP Who is eligible? ? �Sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and graduate students �All education majors from all programs at Purdue are eligible to join �Undergraduates must have a GPA of 3. 0 or higher, and graduate students must have a GPA of 3. 25 or higher. �You must be in the process of applying to the Teacher Education Program.
How to Join KDP What you must do! �Attend EVERY organization meeting and service project (only one of each a month) �If cannot attend for legitimate reason email Natalie Pope npope@purdue. edu �Must make up absence with other service project (tutoring, after school program help) �Sign document stating that you understand the GPA requirements and turn in by the Nov. 20 th meeting (available on KDP website) �Pay Dues �Turn in Service Project Proposal by Nov. 20 th meeting
Service Projects and Meetings Service Projects for Fall 2013 � Nursing Home volunteer � Making blankets for CASA � Lafayette Soup Kitchen Helper � Family Promise (donate food, or help cook food) � Mintonye Elementary School back pack helpers (donate supplies to pack, or assist in packing backpacks) Meetings � LGBTQ panel (diversity in schools) � CCO Resume assistance � Principal/Superintenden t Interview Panel
Dues �National Dues- Goes to National Chapter for membership � 1 year membership $42/ 2 year membership $78 �Pay online (link on Purdue KDP website) �Local Dues- Goes to Purdue KDP Chapter for membership �$20 �Write a check to Purdue Kappa Delta Pi or pay cash �One time Initiation Fee- Pays for Initiation material and food �$16 �Write a check to Purdue Kappa Delta Pi or pay cash �Can combine with local dues for a $36 check or cash
Service Project Proposal �Due by November 20 th �Outline of Service Project KDP could do the following semester �Can work individually or with a partner �Outline on Purdue KDP website �Must be typed
