Human Resources Therefore our internal organization is including more and more people, in order to meet the demand of freestyle skaters and competition organizations. Human resources is a great challenge, especially about association ’s topics world-wide. Commitment is not trendy among urban sports, yearning to be free, and tending to lack responsibilities. We would are currently introducing new active members : • IFSA Spanish representant : Carlos FLOREZ ARRANZ • a new Russian representant : on the way Þto take part to the projects & issues of IFSA Participate to the everyday life of the association is the best way to share the projects & the issues. Therefore IFSA active members are welcoming more people.
Asia Europe America Asia : - Taiwan ROC contacts did not follow up in building up any competitions - China did continue to run independent competition : Shanghai Slalom Open. China officials were contacted. FIRS is currently working on unifying the rules for the World Championship 2008. - Korea were represented in Milano, 3 officials, joining FIRS meeting & setting projects for 2008 Europe : - IFSA events : Spain, France, Russia, Italy. Recognition of freestyle among federations - Germany : many contacts but no event for 2008. Budget issues, freestyle is yet not funded as the other skating sports. - Netherlands : IFSA judge course - UK : development of UKFSA-BRSF. Skating events on other format, cheaper. American development : - USA : Little scene growing up. First event in september NYC. Still too little to run IFSA events. IFSA – USFSA meeting in may 2007. - Brazil : first participation, World Championship.
BUISNESS & GOVERNMENTAL BODIES The Skating-Skiing industry had difficulties with a hot winter for skiing & slow volatile market for skating. New brand based on skating only are emerging nicely. The retail business are suffering in some western areas. City councils and authorities are starting to be more keen on funding events, thanks to the efforts & development of structure (federations). * Introduction of Freestyle skating within the FIRS, under the CIC * Freestyle skating recognition growing up in the FIHP * Recognition in the BRSF, undertook under UKFSA * Recognition in the FEP is on the way
Business Development & sport issues The development of a sport is a thigh balance : Business People organizing events need to fund their event. They pay attention to the media, and appreciate to reduce costs. Demands matching these interest : • Shorter the event, less time, with less skaters, deeper impact for medias. • 2 nd run for the top skaters, only. 2 nd run not at the same moment. • Less costs (less judges, less travel costs=same nationalities) Sport The sport isn’t only a show. It has to set true & sincere results, for the athletes. • More time to check results, to respect easily the planning • 2 runs together, 2 run for everyone : make the participation t a competition profitable for the skaters (paying their own travel) • More judges (more accurate results) ÞOpposite goals, for a common development. ÞDecisions to be discussed & shared together during this board meeting
