Class Scheduling 9 th Grade Academy 10 th – 12 th Grades 9 th grade students have 10 th – 12 th grade students their own wing of the are scheduled by semester building and their own Called “ 4 x 4” Schedule teacher cohort 4 classes in the fall and 4 Core classes are on a yearbrand new classes in the long schedule spring, classes meet Electives are scheduled by everyday semester ILT is a 30 minute working- ILT is a 50 minute working lunch

School Counseling Office Students are assigned alphabetically by last name to 1 of 4 Academic and Career Counselors The School Counseling Office is open Mon-Thurs 8: 00 -3: 45 and Friday 8: 00 -12: 30, 2: 30 -4: 00 during the school year Counselors are available to see students everyday on a walk-in basis during Independent Learning Time (ILT is the working-lunch) School Counselors base the needs of your child on the results of their annual IGP (individual graduation plan) meeting. Parents will be notified of the meeting and it is important that they attend ***Please note School Counselors see parents and/or new student registrations by appointment only

IB Diploma Program (IBDP): Program of Choice for Juniors and Seniors Various paths to get to IBDP in grade 11 Students in grades 9 and 10 should challenge themselves to prepare for IB in grades 11 and 12 We also recommend that 9 th/10 th graders finish as many of their SC graduation requirements as they can

Dress Code Tops must be solid in color with a collar. Approved colors are Navy and White only. Students may also wear Seahawk or HHIHS t-shirts or sweatshirts. Students may wear pants, shorts (no cargo shorts), and skirts that reach past the fingertips. The approved colors for bottoms are Black, Khaki, and Navy. Hole-free blue jeans are allowed on Fridays. Outer wear (apparel that zips from top to bottom) is not allowed.

PTSO Store The PTSO Store sells HHIHS “spirit wear” including short sleeve and long sleeve t- shirt, quarter zips, and sweatshirts The spirit wear is Dress Code approved! Its also cheap! The PTSO Store will be open on August 7 9: 003: 00 and August 15 1: 006: 00 During the schoolyear the store is open during ILT lunch Mon - Thurs

Student Parking Spots There is an application process for student parking spots that is available on our school website (see “Students” tab) Students are required to show proof of having completed a defensive driving course prior to parking on campus Juniors and Seniors are given first priority If there are still spots available, Sophomores who participate in clubs or athletics are then given priority Students forfeit their parking spot if they are tardy over the allowed amount Parking is coordinated by Assistant Principal Skirtich Joseph. School Issued Devices Students are issued a device at the beginning of each school year for use at school and at home There is a $20 insurance fee for each student payable to our Bookkeeper There is also a waiver that must be signed by both student and parent before a tablet is issued (see first day folder)
