Fall College Fairs: • RCSJ-Thursday October 10 th, 2020 - RCSJ 6: 00 PM Gloustrer Campus • RCSJ- Nursing & Health Professions-TBD • NACAC College Fair • *NACAC has made the decision to cancel all Fall 2020 in-person fairs and pivot to virtual programming. College Application Process: • 1)Online college Application Fee: ( Ranges from $25 -100$) different for each college • 2) SAT/ACT: scores sent through college board or are self- reporting(Depending on the college) • 3. )Personal Essay: (not required by all schools) • 4. )Letters of Recommendation: ( form is Located on our Guidance Webpage under “Senior Page”) • 5) Transcripts: Sent by guidance counselor
Naviance • What it is: • Naviance is an INCREDIBLE tool for GHS students and their families! • It is a comprehensive secure website to assist you and your child in making decisions about courses, colleges, and careers. • Students will learn how to: • Access and use their personal site to help organize their college planning and search process. • Obtain general college information, get access to specific college websites, and get a list of colleges that would be a good fit for the student from a GPA and test score perspective.
Naviance allows you to discover the some of following below: • Discover and explore individual strengths and learning styles(interest surveys) • Explore different careers • Develop resumes • Complete Career assessments • Get involved in the planning and advising process • Request teacher recommendations • Link to other resources for information on: SATs, ACTS, Financial Aid, NCAA • Plan for post-secondary success • Complete tasks related to career and college planning(test, fees, recommendations, etc) • Research colleges. Utilize college search to create a customized list of schools for you to consider • Sign up for college visits • Find out which colleges are visiting our school and sign up to attend
