Classroom Rules • Follow Directions Quickly • Raise your hand for permission to speak • Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat • Make smart choices • Follow Champs and Classroom Social Contracts
Math • Solve word problems using addition and subtraction. • Count to 120, starting at any number. • Make a ten using ten ones and tell how many tens and ones are in number • Compare numbers using the symbols <, >, and =. • Put 3 objects in order by length. • Tell time to the hour and the half hour. • Make and read a graph. • Identify shapes by their characteristics. • Use two and three dimensional shapes to make new shapes. • Divide shapes into 2 and 4 equal parts.
Language Arts 1. Describe characters, settings, and details from a story. 2. Tell the difference between fiction and non-fiction stories. 3. Ask and answer questions about the story or text. 4. Find clues about text through pictures and words. 5. Editing and rewriting. 6. Make and Explain Predictions 7. Use types of communication (Fairy tales, letters, personal narratives). 8. Identify problem or goal of main character. 9. Decoding strategies to figure out unknown words. 10. Use proper editing skills to check spelling, punctuation, grammar and syntax.

Homework Howler
Homework folders go home on Friday. Please do not return until Friday. Please sign your child’s agenda each day And check your child’s color.
When you are absent… • You have as many days as you were absent to complete the work once you return. • If planning to be absent you should let your child’s teacher know ahead of time, however, no work will be given before your child returns.
