Grading • We believe in efficacy. Ø All feedback is important in growth and learning. Ø Work hard-get smarter! • A 3 is a grade level score. Ø Three’s mean that your child is meeting grade level expectations. • A 4 is an exceptional score. Ø If your child gets a four, that means that they have exceeded grade level expectations during that quarter of the year. Ø If a child earns a four one quarter that doesn’t mean that they will continue to exceed expectations.
Grading • A 2 means some grade level expectations have been met. • A 1 shows that grade level expectations have not yet been met. • There are math goals that are year long goals. Ø Spiral
Snacks and Break • Snacks need to be healthy with appropriate portion size. • Snacks will be eaten during the break time, we do not have a separate time in our day for just snacks. • Treats vs. snacks • Birthday Treats – you may bring birthday treats as long as you have enough treats for everyone and they are store bought. You do not have to bring in a treat.
General Expectations • Personal responsibility-theirs (we are here to help them develop) • Empower students-communication comes through them first • Work hard • Homework/extracurricular • Fairness-does not mean the SAME for all • Accept others • Contact me with questions or concerns-I will do the same
• Thank you for coming tonight.
