Rules of Narration (with passage Narration) Assertive sentence Rule-1: Reporting verb-��object �� �����indirect speech-����� said ������ Inverted comma ���that ����� : a. Talha Said, ’I am reading a book now’. Answer: Talha said that he was reading a book then.
Assertive sentence(Cont. ) Rule- 2: Reporting verb-��object �����said to-����� told/said to ������� Inverted comma ���that ����� : a. Riku said to Biplob, ’You are a good officer’. Answer: Riku said to Biplob that he was a good officer.
Assertive sentence(Cont. ) Rule-3: Reporting verb present/ future tense ���reported speech-��tense������ Inverted comma ���that ����� : a. Ali says, `I did not play yesterday’. Answer: Ali says that he did not play the previous day.

Exercise Change the narrative style by using indirect speeches. a. He said, ’I go to college daily. ’ b. She said, ’My brother will come here tomorrow. ’ c. The man said, ’I do not take tea’.

Home Work Write the twelve structures of Tenses in your copy and try to learn those with examples.
