- Slides: 8
Welcome to Drama * Do’s and don’t’s * What to bring * What we’ll be learning
Firstly - when it’s time for Drama: * Hygiene is important! In Drama we move around a lot and we don’t wear shoes in class. Please make sure that you’re showered, deodorised and that you’re wearing clean socks. * Arrive on time - this means as quickly as you can get to class when the bell sounds. * Wait outside the PAC (the main side) until your teacher arrives and asks you to come in. * Enter the PAC quietly and sensibly - no running, yelling, dawdling. * Line up outside the Drama room. * When you enter the Drama room - remove your shoes and place them at the back of the room. * Place your i. Pads (along with your books) on one of the shelves provided. * Sit on the carpet, in a circle, quietly.
Rules of the Drama Room • No running • No fighting, play-fighting or rough behaviour • No chewing gum!!! • No use of i. Pads without permission • No mobile phones (even if you’re hiding it!) • Do not touch anyone else’s belongings without permission • Respect all equipment (props, costumes, stationary, etc) • Always consider everyone’s ideas and opinions • Be fair, supportive and cooperative at all times
What to bring to each class: • Your i. Pad or computer (if you have one) • Headphones (if you have an i. Pad) • An exercise book to leave with your teacher • Pencil case (WITH pens, pencils, an eraser, sharpener and ruler in it!) • A positive attitude - sighing, groaning and complaining doesn’t get you anywhere - start each class saying to yourself: “I’m going to go in and do my best”. You’ll find you’ll actually enjoy yourself a lot more! • Kindness - you will be working with everyone in your class, and sometimes you’ll be working with people from other classes. Never exclude or refuse to work with people.
Lunchtime Detention WELCOME TO LUNCHTIME DETENTION! 12. 35 pm-1 pm Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. If you are later than 12. 35 pm you will have a second detention. I hope you brought along a pen as you have a task to complete. Over the next half an hour - you need to do the following: * Read the excerpt (small script or piece of writing) you are given and answer the questions provided. You don’t get rewarded for ‘finishing early’. You still have to be there until 1 pm. If you do finish, reread your answers, read some more, or work on something else. Reasons you may get a detention: Not completing classwork or homework, inappropriate behaviour towards your teacher or your peers, not bringing the correct resources, late to class.
