Welcome to CUPE 8443 Union Dues Union dues are paid monthly and are 1. 5% of your gross monthly income. They are deducted monthly by payroll. These funds are used to support the day to day running of our local, educate our local and pay our president. We also use these funds to support our association with CUPE National, CUPE Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Federation of Labour, and Education Workers Steering Committee Association.
Welcome to CUPE 8443 General Meetings are held once a month on alternating Wednesdays and Saturdays and are open to all members. The meeting dates and times for these meetings are posted on the website. The schedule for 2017 -18 school year is as follows: Date, Time Place September 9, 10 am Walter Murray February 7, 7 pm Mount Royal October 11, 7 pm Mount Royal March 3, 10 am Walter Murray November 4, 10 am Aden Bowman April 11, 7 pm Mount Royal December 6, 7 pm Mount Royal May 5, 10 am Walter Murray January 13, 10 am Walter Murray June 6, 7 pm Mount Royal Place There are no meeting scheduled for July and August

By-elections take place throughout the year as needed and will be announced by email before the general meeting in which they are about to take place. Welcome to CUPE 8443 Your Rights According to the collective agreement, “In situations where a supervisor/principal meets with an employee for the purpose of discussing a matter of formal discipline, the supervisor/principal shall notify the employee of their right to have a Union Steward present. ” You do have the right to stop a meeting to request a union representative at any meeting involving management during disciplinary action.
