Student Email and Software • New students are all using Office 365 • Previous UF students could still be on Gatorlink webmail – Can request transition to Office 365 • HSC students cannot use One Drive cloud storage features • All students eligible for free Microsoft Office Products – Up to 5 devices, including mobile – http: //www. software. ufl. edu
No Email Forwarding • Student Email Forwarding Policy • “The University of Florida's Auto-Forwarding Email policy prohibits the automatic forwarding of UF businessrelated electronic email. ” • Office 365 email cannot be forwarded by default; automatic compliance • To fix: – https: //migrate. mail. ufl. edu/ – Click ‘Check Your Eligibilty’ – And schedule a migration time with the helpdesk. • We do check and enforce this policy! • http: //generalcounsel. ufl. edu/regulations-andpolicies/auto-forwarding/faq/

Mobile Computing and Storage Devices • All mobile devices must be encrypted • Includes smartphones and laptops • Policy in effect since August 17 th 2013 • “As members of the University of Florida Constituency…” (students are included in the requirements) • What is encryption? • A process that takes a message and makes it unreadable except to a person who knows how to "decrypt" it back into a readable form. 1 • Device encryption protects you as well as the University • An encrypted device is unreadable without the proper password • In the event a device is lost or stolen all data (tax returns, bank statements, SSN’s, etc. ) are vulnerable if unencrypted 1 – EFF’s Surveillance Self-Defense glossary, https: //ssd. eff. org/en/glossary/encryption

Proctor. U • Exams are given in the Quizzes tool in e-Learning but proctored remotely • Requires a webcam and a microphone • Create an account on Proctor.
