Welcome to Broughton Hall Catholic High School Class
Welcome to Broughton Hall Catholic High School Class of 2020
Welcome to Broughton Hall Catholic High School. Hello everyone, my name is Mrs Davies and I am the Director of Learning for transition and Year 7. This year is a little different from others however we want you to know that we are really looking forward to meeting you and although activities may have to take place online and our first meetings may be by phone calls we are really delighted that you will be joining us in September. This powerpoint tells you a little bit about our school and hopefully answers some of the questions you may have. There will be another presentation next week with more information.
Our school uniform We are really proud of our uniform and hope you will be too. Wearing our school uniform shows everybody that you are part of our community. It is important that you wear the correct uniform at all times. Our uniform is super smart because we all look the same. In secondary school we do not wear bows, we don’t have them on our shoes or socks and we don’t wear them in our hair. Hair should be tied back with a blue or black bobble and / or navy blue ribbon. We have a blazer that must be worn at all times however in the Winter when it is cold and rainy you may also want to wear a navy blue or black outdoor coat.
Remember! MICHAEL BAINBRIDGE
Remember! For safety reasons only small plain stud earrings should be worn.
Your school day Please be in school by 8. 30, this gives you enough time to go to your locker and get yourself organised for the day, it also gives you time to chat to friends before your teacher arrives for registration at 8. 45 – 9. 05 Registration 9. 05 – 10. 05 Lesson 1 10. 05 – 11. 05 Lesson 2 11. 05 – 11. 25 Break 11. 25 – 12. 25 Lesson 3 12. 25 – 12. 55 Lesson 4 a 12. 55 – 1. 25 Lunch 1. 25 – 1. 55 Lesson 4 b 1. 55 – 2. 55 Lesson 5 You c a Brea n arrive e kf a cante ast is ser rlier. v en fr om 8 ed in the. 00
Your form class You will be put into a form class which will have the initials of your form tutor. The year group is split into 2 bands B band H band there are 4 form classes in each band. Don’t worry about your form class, we have spoken to all your primary teachers and asked their advice. Remember too, that everyone is in the same position, you are all starting a brand new school and this is the perfect opportunity to make new friends.
Equipment One of the biggest differences between secondary and primary school is that you have to move from lesson to lesson and have to carry your equipment with you. You will be given a locker to keep your things in, you must bring your own padlock in to keep things safe. Don’t bring in a small lock as it will not work, you will need a lock like this Also it is your responsibility to have your own stationery so please make sure you have a pencil case with a pencil, pen, ruler, rubber, sharpener, glue, coloured pencils and mathematical instruments. You will carry your things around in a Broughton Hall school bag. These will be available to buy from school on your first day.
I hope that this presentation has given you a little taste of what life will be like when you come to Broughton Hall. In the next presentation I will talk about the subjects you will study and the teachers who will be working with you. Take care everyone.
