***Class No-1 Introduction to Letter, Word, Syllable Welcome to the world of English alphabet. There are twenty six letters in English alphabet. They can be written into two forms - Capital letters & Small letters.
Letters are of two types. Letters Capital Letters A B C D Small Letters a b c d
Capital letters ABCDEFGHIJKL MNOPQRSTUVW XYZ
Small Letters a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z
Word and Syllable What is a Word? When some letters sit side by side and give a meaning, it is called word. Examples do, man, girl, woman etc.
What is a Syllable? The parts of a word in which the word can be divided according to pronunciations is called syllable. Examples Ex-ce-llent, ad-ver-tise-ment, au-to-bi-o-gra-phy
Syllables are of four kinds. They are shown below: Syllable Mono (One) Di (Two) Tri (Three) Poly (More than three) Book, Cat, School Beau-ty, Mo-ther, Sis-ter, Col-lege Beau-ti-ful, Cir-cu-lar, Uni-ver-sity App-li-ca-tion, Beauti-fi-ca-tion, Re-serva-tion
