School Policies
Dress Code ● Shirt and Tie: A dress shirt with a collar and a properly knotted tie must be worn at all times. ● Pants: Dress slacks that are clean, pressed and neat are required (black, brown, khaki, gray, navy blue). ○ NO jeans of any kind, cargo or work pants are permitted.
Dress Code ● Shoes: dress shoes or loafers must be worn at all times. Sneakers, sandals, moccasins, slippers, and boots are not permitted and may not be worn into or out of the building. ○ BROWN or BLACK shoes are permitted - NO OTHER COLORS. ● Belts: a belt must be worn properly at all times.
Dress Code School sweaters and Blazers: A blazer or a school sweater must be worn at all times during the nonrelaxed dress code period.
Hair ● Hair must be neat, trimmed, and well-groomed at all times. ○ Hair length must not touch the shirt collar in the back, reach below the ears or eyes or exceed two inches in height above the scalp. ● Do-Rags, handkerchiefs and bandanas are not permitted inside or outside the building. Hats, caps, and hoods are not to be worn inside the school building. ● Facial hair must be kept neat and trimmed at all times.
Attendance ● Each day the student is absent from school, a parent MUST telephone the attendance office between 7: 00 and 9: 30 to inform the school of the reason of absence. ● When the student returns to school he must bring a note that verifies the reason and length of his absence to the attendance office. The note must be signed by a parent/guardian only. ● After 5 consecutive days absence, a doctor’s note must be presented to the registrar before the student can be readmitted to school.
Tardiness ● A student arriving at homeroom after 8: 10 is late and must report to the Registrar’s Office before going to class. ● He must sign the late book and receive a late pass, which will result in detention.
Early Dismissals ● If an early dismissal is absolutely necessary, a note stating the time of dismissal and explaining the reason for dismissal must be brought to the registrar before the beginning of homeroom. The school will also need a telephone call from the parent. ● Students are NOT PERMITTED to contact their parents during the school day to leave early. Parents will be contacted by the School Nurse or a School Administrator ONLY.
Anti-Bullying Policy ● All Hallows High School has a zero tolerance policy when dealing with bullying and cyberbullying. ● This policy applies to all students, parents, and faculty members. ● Students are encouraged to report bullying concerns to their counselors or another school staff member. ● Parents are encouraged to report directly to the Guidance Department or administration their concerns about any bullying behaviors.
Detention ● There are two sessions of detention. ● Typical reasons for detention: late to school/class, violation of student handbook, violation of dress code, disruptive in class.
