Welcome to 6 th Grade English With Mrs. Coleman
What supplies will I need every day for English? • Your composition notebook • Paper • 2 -3 pencils • 2 -3 grading pens • Colored pencils
Where do I keep all the extra supplies I bought? At home! It is your responsibility to restock your own supplies (not your neighbor’s) throughout the year. **Beware of the 6 th grade neighbor who is always “forgetting” their own supplies!
What is the composition notebook? • It is a bound notebook. • It stays in the classroom so you don’t lose it. • We use it every day for unit notes, writing, and Spelling words. • You may take it home to study for tests.
Why do we have to have a binder? • You just need one binder for all your classes. • You will assemble the binder in your Reading class. • You will be expected to keep it CLEAN and ORGANIZED!!
“I don’t really like to write. Are we going to write in here? ” The bad news: Yes, writing is one thing we do in here.
The Good News: • Just try the techniques I teach you… • You will succeed! • You will learn to LOVE writing… I promise!
