ELA follows the Reader’s Workshop model. Schoolwide v v Launching Nonfiction Fiction Poetry Guided Reading Students work in small groups to read a text at their instructional level and focus on specific skills and concepts. Independent Reading Students will be reading independently in school and at home. Students should be reading a book at their independent reading level for a minimum of 20 minutes each night, even if they have no other assigned ELA homework.
