Prep Plan at School • We will be re-teaching all 3 rd grade CCSS for reading and math. We will teach a mini-lesson on a specific skill, complete guided practice problems together, and then students will complete problems independently to show their understanding. We are keeping track of mastery for all CCSS for each student. Students who do not show mastery of 80% or higher on their independent practice will be pulled into small group to be re-taught this skill. This will continue until hopefully the child has mastered that skill.

Parents should… • Write 2 letters • Place each inside a sealed envelope and send to school with your child (if you have more than 2 letter place multiple in one envelope) • Don’t let your child read it before they receive it at school • Label the outside of the envelopes with Day 1 and Day 2. • Do not include any information that will help them on the test in your letter. You may write things such as, “You’re so smart, you can do this!” or “Good Luck today!”
How can you help at home? • Make sure your child is prepared each day and brings their EOG books to and from school. • Make sure your child is completing their nightly homework from their EOG books. • Check their homework for accuracy and help them go back and correct anything that is not correct. • Correct items in their Thursday folders that come home not correct. • Go to the EOG website for additional resources to practice at home. • Encourage your child to be present in class.
