A ‘typical’ day at St Margaret’s • • 8. 45 am – School starts

A ‘typical’ day at St Margaret’s • • 8. 45 am – School starts 9 am –Reading – 1: 1 moving to groups later in the year 9. 30 – 11. 30 – Directed learning - Maths or Literacy 11. 30 am – Phonics 12. 15 pm – Lunch 1. 05 pm – Story and Worship 1. 20 pm – Directed learning – Other areas of the curriculum 3 pm – Get ready for Home time at 3. 15 pm

Lunches! • Children have access to a free hot meal everyday. This is paid

This is paid for by the Government. • There is usually a range of choice including a hot meal, a vegetarian option and jacket potatoes • Children can have a packed lunch if they wish to. • Dinners are £ 2. 20 • Reception will eat at 11. 45 each day in September.

How can I help my child at home? Read as much as possible with your child. * Stories at night before bed * Learn their ‘sounds’ – see reading record. Children will get a reading record and books when they start. Some already have access to Bug Club already. Let us know if you would like a log in for over the summer! * Learn any high frequency words that come home in September Counting to 20 and beyond if they can. Simple addition sums Writing their first and then last name Practising getting in and out of their school uniform!

Attendance • Attendance is very important at St Margaret’s and is compulsory from September.

Attendance • Attendance is very important at St Margaret’s and is compulsory from September. • No holidays are authorised during term time • Attendance is tracked every half term. Where attendance is below 96% intervention at different levels is put into place • Cough, colds, tiredness are not seen as reasons to be off school – however this year that is slightly different!

Has been emailed out to everyone also • Slower start as haven’t been able to do Little Margaret’s • Staggered start and finish times necessary due to guidance • No parents in school building – we are sorry but it is a necessary step to keep everyone safe.
