TEACHING AIDS Teaching aids are the tools that teacher use them in the classroom.
CATEGORIES OF TEACHING AIDS Audio Visual Audio-visual activity
VISUAL AIDS These aids the learner to acquire the learning experience through his visual sense. Eg: chart , picture , models.
CHART A chart is a useful way to present and display information or instruction, especially in a classroom others education situation.
Classroom chart criteria COLOUR : the fact that a wheelbarrow is colored and green will not help the students understand that it operates as a second class lever. SIMPLICITY: every chart should convey one idea or one set of ideas clearly. Eliminate all unnecessary parts, making the presentation an ideas one. it may be necessary to sacrifice artistry and detail for increased clarity.
Classroom chart criteria NESSCITY: usually an involved pieces of machinery can be better understood by a simple chart. SIZE: 22”*28” sizes is ideal for classroom chart.
Sources for procurement of chart Chart can be prepared by student and teacher. Chart can be purchased. Chart can be procured on a very normal cost from the following sources; Ministry of education, Govt. of india, Delhi. NCERT , new Delhi. Director, extension service of college of education in the state. SCERT of the state. District public relation officer.

Important point in making chart Chart like other pictorial material should be sufficiently large to be seen easily. Charts can tell a story in some detail but should not contain too many words. They should be strong enough to stand rough use. They should be attractive to look at.

Simple chart We can easily understand the subject matter from a simple chart.
TREE CHART A tree chart is a way of visually representing hierarchy in a tree- like structure.
Flow chart Chart to used to show organizational elements or administrative or functional relational ship. In this chart lines, rectangles , circle, are connected by lines showing the directional flow.
FLIP CHART A set of charts related to specific topic have been tagged together and hang on a supporting stand. The individual charts will carry a series of related material or messages in sequence. The silent points of specific topic will be presented.
Pie chart A circle with different sections having a key mentioned with chart is used to differentiate, compare or to show any relationship between different entries.
Advantage of chart They can be made quickly. They have a better appeal. Only bare essential can be shown in the chart and unnecessary details can be avoided. Chart are available from various sources.
