Introduction: Why we are here – One of many stakeholder groups – Focus on the future – Input on a fair lens to apply when choices are needed – District lens for staffing decisions: • Whole budget • Average class size as a basis • Balance across district
Types of students for today’s discussions • Neighborhood student: lives in neighborhood • Zone Transfer (ZT): lives in Ashland, wants to attend a different school than neighborhood • Inter-District Transfer (IDT): lives outside of Ashland, wants to attend Ashland school (could be open enrollment or regular IDT)

Process of enrollment • Register at neighborhood school (possible accordion zones between schools to balance) • Request Zone transfer • Request Open enrollment or IDT • Post registration week: administration decides on requests to balance (not fill) schools across district • Mid year requests are based on balance across district
