Content of Class • Students will learn both physical and human geography. • While physical geography is taught, the focus of this class will be on human geography as well as modern world history.

Class content continued • We will learn current events every week…usually on Monday and Tuesday and then take a current events quiz on Wednesday. • Students will research and participate in class debates. Lawyers will be brought in from our partnership law firm to judge the debates. Debate topics will be based on issues facing the different countries we study and/or current events.

Class content continued • Students will also participate in Socratic Seminars and Threaded Discussions.

Homework and Late Work Policies • Students are expected to complete homework on time.

Homework and Late Work Policies • Students are expected to complete homework on time. Homework is posted on my webpage, on the whiteboard and I verbally remind them before they leave my classroom. • Late Work – I do accept late work but students will receive 10% off for everyday it is late not to exceed 40%. Late work will not be accepted after 2 weeks of the due date.

Infinite Campus • I post grades several times a week on Infinite Campus. It is a good idea to check Infinite Campus at least once a week if not more. • The breakdown of your child’s grade is: – 50% assessments – 30% major assignments – 20% homework/classwork • I try to put in as many assessments as possible since it is 50% of your child’s grade. We usually have 2 quizzes a week. Sometimes an assignment might be counted as an assessment.

Hours of Availability • I am always available before school from 7: 30 am

Missing Assignments • Missing assignments will affect a student’s citizenship grade: – 0 -3
